Girona en Moviment
Culture in service of health
Girona en Moviment (GeM) is dance, culture and solidarity! A charitable initiative that promotes the art of dance in the province of Girona and raises funds to fight cancer.
Convinced of the intrinsic link between dance and health, internationally renowned artists have been participating since 2017, united for an important cause through performances, conferences, workshops and short film competitions for all types of audiences.
An international gala, the culmination
Every year, an international gala with classical, neoclassical and contemporary dance pieces puts the finishing touch to the four days of activity, bringing together dancers from the main European companies and from other parts of the world.
Today, more than ever, GeM is a tool for social transformation and a space for free expression for everyone, without exception!
Grand Dance Gala Against Cancer
Sunday July 5 · 7.00 pm · Teatre Municipal de Girona
A unique dance gala where excellence and artistry come together to create an unforgettable celebration of dance at its highest level. The evening brings together renowned Catalan and international principal dancers from some of the world’s leading companies, including Teatro alla Scala, Stuttgart Ballett, Opéra de Lyon, and Philadelphia Ballet, among others. Through passion, energy, and technical mastery, the artists transport audiences into a world of emotion and imagination. Each turn, leap and gesture reveals extraordinary grace and virtuosity. Featuring a diverse repertoire spanning classical, neoclassical, and contemporary dance, including several world premieres, this gala transforms the stage into a vibrant universe of colour, light, music, and movement. Year after year, this exceptional evening continues to captivate audiences and stand as one of the festival’s most anticipated events.
Join us for a closing cocktail reception celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Girona en Moviment festival. An opportunity to meet the dancers from the Grand Dance Gala Against Cancer in an informal and festive atmosphere, while sharing a special evening dedicated to dance, art, and human connection.
An Art Book to Celebrate 10 Years of Girona en Moviment
Celebrate 10 years of dance and solidarity with a unique publication

To commemorate this milestone, we have published a book-object that not only collects images and memories, but also transmits the soul of the festival. With striking photographs from all the editions, inspiring reflections and the testimony of the artists and audience who have made this project possible, this book is a work of art to have and keep.

A través del moviment, l’escolta corporal i diferents dinàmiques col·lectives, explorarem eines per desenvolupar l’atenció, la claredat mental, la comunicació i el benestar físic i emocional. HELP SUPPORT GEM
Girona en Moviment creates moments of magic every year by connecting, sharing, inspiring and, above all, helping cancer patients and their families.
TO DO THIS WE NEED EVERYONE'S COLLABORATION.
All proceeds from GeM go directly to the Fundació Oncolliga Girona, a non-profit organization that aims to improve the quality of life of those affected by cancer, as well as promote healthy habits among the general population to prevent this disease.
So what better way to support this cause than to join the mission of dance for health by making a donation?
Organization and team
A committed civil society: Culture and Health go hand in hand
David Rodriguez, dancer, choreographer and cultural manager, promoted in 2017 the solidarity dance initiative against cancer that would become GeM, today an indisputable cultural and health event in the city of Girona. Since its inception, the GeM has been organized thanks to the collaboration of two entities:
The Cultura en Moviment Association , which works to revitalize the dance sector in Catalonia and understands culture as a transformative tool, for dialogue and social cohesion. It is made up of different professionals from the cultural sector who invest their time in the artistic direction, programming and production of GeM.
The Oncolliga Girona Foundation , which works to improve the quality of life of cancer patients in the province of Girona and their families, in addition to promoting healthy habits to prevent this disease. All proceeds from GeM activities go to the Oncolliga Girona Foundation. GeM would not be possible without the involvement of its professional team.
