Girona en Moviment
Culture in service of health
Girona en Moviment (GeM) is dance, culture and solidarity! A charitable initiative that promotes the art of dance in the province of Girona and raises funds to fight cancer.
Convinced of the intrinsic link between dance and health, internationally renowned artists have been participating since 2017, united for an important cause through performances, conferences, workshops and short film competitions for all types of audiences.
The 2023 edition of GeM focuses on the theme “identities”.
The finalists of the short film competition to be presented at the Truffaut Cinema will show the potential of dance as a catalyst for the different social, cultural, linguistic or gender identities that coexist in our society.

GEM 2023 IS TODAY MORE THAN EVER A TOOL FOR SOCIAL TRANSFORMATION AND A SPACE FOR FREE EXPRESSION, WITHOUT EXCEPTION!

HELP SUPPORT GEM
Girona en Moviment creates moments of magic every year by connecting, sharing, inspiring and, above all, helping cancer patients and their families.
TO DO THIS WE NEED EVERYONE'S COLLABORATION.
All proceeds from GeM go directly to the Fundació Oncolliga Girona, a non-profit organization that aims to improve the quality of life of those affected by cancer, as well as promote healthy habits among the general population to prevent this disease.
So what better way to support this cause than to join the mission of dance for health by making a donation?

Organization and team
A committed civil society: Culture and Health go hand in hand
David Rodriguez, dancer, choreographer and cultural manager, promoted in 2017 the solidarity dance initiative against cancer that would become GeM, today an indisputable cultural and health event in the city of Girona. Since its inception, the GeM has been organized thanks to the collaboration of two entities:
The Cultura en Moviment Association, which works to promote the dance sector in Catalonia and which understands culture as a tool for transformation, dialogue and social cohesion. It is made up of different professionals from the cultural sector who invest their time in the artistic direction, programming and production of GeM: David Rodriguez, Luke Prunty, Laia Bohigas, Pau Caselles, Elisa Battikh.
The Oncolliga Girona Foundation, which works to improve the quality of life of cancer patients in the province of Girona and their relatives, as well as promoting healthy habits to prevent this disease. All proceeds from GeM activities go to the Oncolliga Girona Foundation. GeM would not be possible without the involvement of its professional team.
